ABOUT ME
Rachel is passionate about helping families create healthy sleep habits for their little ones. Whether it's your baby, toddler, or older nuerodivergent child, she offers one-on-one personalized support and online classes to meet your specific needs.
Rachel is a certified pediatric sleep consultant based out of Portland, Oregon who works in both the United States and Canada. She understands the challenges that come with sleepless nights and her mission is providing you with the knowledge and tools to improve your child's sleep.
“Sound sleep isn’t a pipe dream! I want you to rest easy every night knowing that your child has the skills neccessary to consistently sleep independently, and wake rested and ready for the day”.
After graduating college, Rachel began her career as a birth and postpartum doula which demonstrated to her time and again the complexity of the postpartum experience for new parents, and the impact that sleep or the lack there of can have. During the pandemic Rachel worked as a nanny for several families with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers who all had varying levels of barriers to sleep. She has worked with over 50 children, and two sets of twins.
Driven by her desire to take excellent care of clients and children in her care, Rachel pursued specialized training and education at the Center for Pediatric Sleep Management and became a certified pediatric sleep consultant in 2023. There she found her passion knowing that with this career path she would be able to increase the number of families she could help, and share more about her favorite topic: sleep!
SLEEP PHILOSOPHY
Sleep isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity for children and parents alike. Rachel follows and educates families on the American Academy of Pediatrics standards for safe sleep and is comfortable and informed on supporting many different sleep training methods. She believes sleep training is most successful when it is parent led, personalized, and evidence based. Bringing the joy and connection back to bedtime routines and parenting (while identifying personal boundaries) is a cornerstone of her practice. Rachel is especially passionate about supporting neurodiverse children and believes that all children have the potential to sleep independently. She gladly supports both breastfeeding and bottle feeding parents, and families that co parent in separate households.
Rachel considers herself a full spectrum sleep consultant, and runs a scholarship fund that past clients and members of the community can donate to in order to help support parents in need with lesser financial means access to educational sleep classes. Rachel believes all families have the right to knowledge regarding sleep training and facilitating conversation and enhancing accessibility is key to furthering the emerging industry of pediatric sleep consulting.
